I can’t believe all those that voted for it couldn’t see past just the whole “gay marriage” aspect of it.  It’s about so much more than that (at least in Florida, I haven’t read up on the CA #8).

Who cares of two men or two women want to get married or have a domestic partnership?  Is it physically hurting anyone? No.  Is someone going to go blind by looking at  gay or lesbian couple? No.  It has no affect on you, why do you care so adamantly about it?

What saddens me is that “gay marriage” is not the only issue at stake, it also affects the hetero couples who needed this for domestic partnerships are equally hurt in this as well.  So what is a man and woman choose to just live together and never marry?  It’s THEIR decision.  Look at Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, there’s a domestic partnership if I’ve ever seen one.  Same for Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins (who unbelievably was removed from his precinct voter log for no apparent reason and had to fight to cast his vote this week).

People in Florida and California and any other state that his this need to take a step back and really look at everything that these amendments encompass because it’s hurting a lot of people, not just one certain group.

Seriously, it’s 2008.  Will we ever be free of discrimination in every form?  I guess not.  But there is hope, as proven on 11/4/2008 when Barack Obama was voted overwhelmingly to be our next President of the United States.

At least we got one thing right as a nation.  We still have a lot of work to do though. And it starts at home.

When did it become commerically acceptable to have Christmas decorations up in retail stores FIVE days after Halloween? Five days!

I’m cool with having all the consumer products out for us to spend countless hours ooohing and ahhing over, but to be confronted with a huge-ass Christmas tree last night when I ran to WM was slightly overwhelming…probably because I saw at least three kids in their halloween costumes.

Maybe we should just combine Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas and call October to December Hallogivingmas?  Just have one big ass three month holiday sprinkled with various events and activities?

Man, right now…RIGHT NOW….I could be at a rally for Barack Obama that’s happening within five miles of my office.  And OBAMA is going to be there!!  Didn’t find out until last night on the news and I’m so bummed!  I would love to hear him speak!  I’d love to just be in the crowd and feel the overwhelming support and positive change vibes going around.

There’s a McCain rally in my town, tonight at 6pm…..and good ‘ole McCain (I’m trying so so hard to be nice) will be here.  Doors opened at 3 and it’s literally 3/4 of a mile from my office.

Too bad though I’ll be at home by then….laughing hysterically at my skills on Guitar Hero!

25 days and counting….never has an election meant so much.

Ok, the serious WTF question: AIG (big massive insurance company) goes begging and pleading to the government and get 85 billion, Billion with a B folks dollars to help them in the huge, ginormous economic perfect storm.  Then as has been reported, the same company went and spent almost 1/2 a million at a freaking retreat for AIG agents/sales force people.  That’s the first WTF?

Then, this morning it’s announced that AIG has asked for MORE money from the government.  MORE billions.

The second WTF…if all the committees are pissed off that they got the first bailout check and then blew 1/2 a mill at a freaking SPA resort and are planning ANOTHER retreat at another SPA resort, why do they deserve the second bailout amount?

In my humble opinion, they need to give back the first bailout amount and fire everyone that went on that first 1/2 a million dollar retreat and put the fear of God into the second group that’s scheduled for the second one.

Random thought time….or maybe better an open letter to a certain radio host:

If you host a radio show (not naming names, but I live in the Tampa market and used to listen to a rather prominent station here) and you’re all about ratings and entertaining people why do you alienate yourself and drive listeners away with your political spiel that’s better left for your afternoon talk show?

You’re no longer number 1 in the area for the adult demographic because you’ve continually driving republican rhetoric down your listeners throats.  Your show is not fun to listen to anymore.  You fired someone for taking a day off to go to the other candidate’s rally (the one you don’t support and have all those nauseating parody songs about).

I hope this teaches you a lesson.  The people that listen to you don’t want to hear about your shuttered view of the political world.  They want to be entertained.  Trust me on this.

This article really brings it home as to why I support Barack Obama…not just because I’m a registered Democrat.  I freely admit I voted for Bush in 2000 and probably 2004 (although I think I voted for Kerry but I can’t remember).

We can NOT let life continue as it has for the last eight years.  What happened to the America we used to be?  I truly believe that the only way to get back to what we once were is to elect Barack Obama and let him truly lead us as a united nation once more.

So again please go and vote on Election day.  Please.  Don’t make me beg to the internet…but I will if I have to!

And again, if you don’t vote, then you can seriously STFU because you had the chance to express your opinion and desire and instead you did nothing.
