I give you…..The Goober Burger
Ignore the name…trust me!
We watch a show called Bizarre Foods on the Travel Channel http://www.travelchannel.com/TV_Shows/Bizarre_Foods
The show is awesome and gross at the same time. Last week he was in Minnesota and at one of the stops he had a goober burger with was something other than hamburger meat (I can’t remember what) on a bun with mayonnaise and….
….wait for it….
…peanut butter.
I know! Peanut butter! It goes on while it’s still on the grill so it melts to a gooey mess.
But OH MY GOD it is freaking awesome.

They had those at the Drake Diner in Des Moines. Loved, loved, loved them! But there’s just something about making them at home that doesn’t do them justice. I’ll just have to wait for a trip to Iowa to enjoy them once again!

We did them on the grill Saturday for lunch and the PB melted into a gooey joy and it was spectacular! I did them last night in our FlavorWave counter-top oven and the PB didn’t melt as good.
They were still damn good, but much better from the grill definitely!

There’s also a Goober Berger drive-in in Springfield, MO. Aint there many years ago. It’s a big deal in Springfield.
